Festival Park is the newest entertainment venue at Market Creek Plaza. Located beside Where the World Meets, Festival Park is an extension of the cultural learning and expression that takes place inside the multicultural gift store.
The park is home to seven cultural houses reflective of cultural groups represented in the Diamond Neighborhoods of southeastern San Diego: Laotian, Samoan, Somalian, Sudanese, African American, Filipino and Mexican. On weekends this fall, each house is hosting workshops and demonstrations to share traditions, foods, and arts and crafts native to their respective countries. Behind the houses is a large grassy area perfect for hosting children's activities and events.
Seasonal entertainment (PDF) is scheduled on weekends in November and December. Activities and events are planned throughout the Plaza to celebrate the seasons.
